An historical issue of “Phlébologie Annales Vasculaires”

Ce numéro 3 de l’année 2010 est véritablement historique.
En effet, Phlébologie Annales Vasculaires devient la première revue internationale bilingue de phlébologie.
L’évolution du monde phlébologique, et de sa presse en particulier, ne pouvaient nous laisser indifférents.
Phlébologie Annales Vasculaires accueillait depuis fort longtemps des auteurs venus du monde entier, mais le développement de revues internationales de phlébologie, regroupant des sociétés savantes de plusieurs pays, devait nécessairement nous amener à évoluer.
Phlébologie Annales Vasculaires est désormais le journal officiel de la Société Canadienne de Phlébologie (SCP-CSP) comme il était déjà celui de la Société Française de Phlébologie (SFP).
Nos relations privilégiées, de longue date, avec nos collègues canadiens et le souhait de la SCP d’avoir son propre journal représentaient une réelle opportunité. Ce partenariat offrira à notre lectorat une approche bilingue mais aussi biculturelle de la phlébologie moderne. Cependant, Phlébologie Annales Vasculaires n’oubliera pas ses fondamentaux, c'est-à-dire des articles concrets de pratique phlébologique et de cas cliniques.
Rien n’aurait pu se faire sans la volonté tenace de la présidente de la SCP, Pauline Raymond-Martimbeau, que je tiens à remercier chaleureusement. Je suis persuadé que cette nouvelle ère qui débute pour Phlébologie Annales Vasculaires vous apportera beaucoup de satisfaction.

As the president of the Canadian Society of Phlebology, I ampleased and honored to accept the invitation of the French Society of Phlebology to join with them in their journal, “Phlébologie Annales Vasculaires”, and to declare this publication the official journal of the Canadian Society of Phlebology.
I feel this is a turning point in the history of our organization, as our work will now be recognized and distributed in the greater community of practitioners worldwide. Through this joint effort, our goals to improve our discipline and the recognition of the good works and contributions of our members can nowmove forward at a more rapid pace.
Members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity, not only by subscribing to the journal, but also by submitting their work for inclusion in this prestigious publication.
We welcome this collaboration with our French colleagues. Our combined efforts can, and, I am certain, will make a difference in the advancement of our specialty and the quality of the results of our discipline and our individual practices.
This milestone in our history will prove beneficial for us all, and I, personally, as well as your officers and Boardmembers, look forward with great pleasure and anticipation to the results of this collaborative endeavor.
